The Eagle Business Association works within our community
to help make it a great place to live and work. Having local
businesses working together helps make our town prosper and
smile even more.
Some of the programs that The Eagle Business Association has
proudly been involved in are listed below. We try to establish
the consistency of these programs every year, along with any other
new ideas to help the community with the input of our members.
-
The printing of The Eagle Business Association Telephone
Directory which is updated each year
and is mailed to every Eagle resident and Post Office Box in late spring.
-
Displaying flags of the United States, P.O.W. and various countries on Main Street, along with a sponsorship program for families who would like to dedicate a certain flag to a loved one or just to display their proud heritage. The flags are hung by Memorial Day and taken down before the winter wind blows each year by the Association.
- Maintining (ie. pruning, decorating, etc.) our Community Holiday tree which we had planted in Von Rueden Park, next to the gazeboo. Each holiday season, it is strung with lights donated buy the Eagle Business Association members.
-
Sponsoring a float for The Kettle Moraine Days Parade each
year. Participating in this yearly event lets the area know that there are many services right in their
home town that they could take advantage of. We also run
a fund-raising booth (dunk tank) during the Kettle Moraine Days Festival, held at the Village Park. The profits help fund future Eagle Business Association events and also keeps our website up and running. We also contribute a portion of our proceeds to the D.A.R.E. program in our community. This event takes place the weekend after Father's Day.
-
Participating in The Drop Everything and Read Program at
Eagle Elementary each November during National Education Week. Eagle Business Association members are willing to help out in any way they can to help promote better learning for each student in our district. Some examples are: The Job Shadowing Program, mock interviews, etc.
- Hosting the Eagle Business Association Rummage Sale, which has been an annual event since 1994. This community rummage is city sale with maps, addresses & category sheets and advertises in various local newspapers, a publication in the Waukesha County Tourism Guide and provides a specially made rummage sale sign for each participant. A portion of the proceeds is used to beautify the community. This event usually takes place for two weekends (The weekend of Mother's Day and the weekend after). Registration forms for this event are mailed out to every Eagle resident and post office.
- Hosting the Winter Hay Ride for a Canned Good Weekend held in early/mid December. This event helps to stock our local food pantry by having a hay ride with a canned good as ride admission. Other activities include a cookie decorating event and pictures with Santa. (Proceeds from Pictures with Santa event puchases frozen foods and fresh meats for the Eagle Food Pantry.)
- Providing the Eagle Business Association website. A major plus for all our association members which was developed in 1999.
- Networking with Business After Five getherings. Individual Eagle Business Association members volunteer to host this event periodically thoughout the year. It is a good way to network with other businesses and get to know fellow Eagle Business Association members. !
In addition to the events listed above, we host an annual year-end awards dinner, which is a wonderful time to enjoy each other's company, along with food and many smiles. this January, we held our very first Pancake Breakfast at the Eagle Community Showcase in January.
These are just a few of our annual events and perks that the Eagle Business Association takes part in. Member participation helps this organization grow. We can all help each other, be it a business or community, if we all work together.
